Beech Tree Puppets perform "The Hollow Stump", based on the folk tale, The Mitten, retold and adapted for table-top rod-puppets. Various animals, sometimes at odds with each other in nature, find community as they seek shelter from an unexpected snow in early spring. Founders Ingrid Cowan Hass and Ole Hass guide the animal puppets as they sing and narrate.  (all ages)

Poetry Moment

Maryland, Washington D.C. and metro Virginia residents are invited to submit poems for our bimonthly Poetry Moment exhibit, posted in front of the cafe.

The November-December winner of the Poetry Moment competition is Peggy Rooney, whose poem Candles is now on view in the poetry box outside the cafe.

Wine and Beer

Sample our international wine selection, featuring Tomaiolo Pinot Grigio from Italy, Louis Latour Chardonnay from France, and El Toqui Cabarnet Sauvignon from Chile.
