The New Deal Cafe provides a venue for local artists to exhibit and sell their work. We have a showroom and glass display cases, and every other month new artwork is featured. Join us at a reception to meet the creative talent behind the next exhibit.
If you're an artist, we'd love to talk to you about having a show at the cafe.
The cafe's art exhibits are mounted by the New Deal Cafe Art Committee and sponsored by the Friends of New Deal Cafe Arts with support from Prince George's County. Your tax-deductible donation to FONDCA supports art at the cafe.
The second group show this year at the New Deal Cafe in Roosevelt Center, "Farm to Table", is looking for artwork! This theme show will be in collaboration with the Greenbelt Farmers Market and will be on display the months of July-August. The reception will be on Sunday, July 26, and will include events such as wine tasting and fruit and veggie sculpting for kids with Greenbelt artist Tom Baker.
Submissions in all media are welcome, and may include: market scenes, harvesting, farms, orchards, farm animals, vegetables, fruit, bread-making, etc. All 2-dimensional art work in all media must be hooked, wired, and ready to hang. 3-dimensional art work is welcome: there is a display case available for 3-dimensional art, which must measure no more than 10 by 10 inches.
The exhibit is limited to artists 18 years and over. Please submit a digital image of the work you would like to have considered for this show to email@example.com (up to 4 entries per artist). Please include the title and size of each art work submitted. Deadline for submission is June 26.
Artists will be notified about acceptance of their work by June 29. If you have any questions or need assistance, please email Meg Haney at firstname.lastname@example.org or call her at (301) 602-2769.
