Art on the Walls

The New Deal Cafe provides a venue for local artists to exhibit and sell their work. We have a showroom and glass display cases, and every other month new artwork is featured. Join us at a reception to meet the creative talent behind the next exhibit.

If you’re an artist, we’d love to talk to you about having a show at the cafe.

The cafe’s art exhibits are mounted by the New Deal Cafe Art Committee and sponsored by the Friends of New Deal Cafe Arts with support from Prince George’s County. Your tax-deductible donation to FONDCA supports art at the cafe.

Green Man Group Exhibit

Painting by Dan Kennedy
Mosaic by local glass artists

The theme of this year’s Green Man art exhibit is “finding common ground in the gardens of life.” The works range from small paper constructions by Greenbelt Middle School students, to paintings, drawings, and photographs by local artists, and include a collaborative mosaic done just for the show. From intimate close-up photos, to bold large images, the works give a peek into the diversity of the many artists’ connections with nature. Come make your own connection with the Art of Nature. A public reception for the 2012 Green Man Group Exhibit will be held on Sunday, June 3rd, from 7pm to 9pm at New Deal Cafe. The exhibit will be on display at New Deal Cafe until July 2nd. Most of the works are for sale by the artists.
